1. Operation of the website

M+W Group processes your personal data to present the information that is available on this website and to provide the services offered on this website.

Unless it is explicitly stated otherwise in the following sections the legal basis for this processing of data is Article 6 (1) f) of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), i.e. a balancing of interests – based on M+W Group’s legitimate interest to provide this website and the services offered on it to internet users.

2.1. Data you enter

For the purposes described herein M+W Group may use any data that you enter on this website (e.g. using the contact form addressed in section 4 below). M+W Group processes these data you have entered to handle and to answer your request.

2.2. Automatically collected data

To present the right information to you on this website M+W Group also processes the following data:

  • The address of the web page on this website you visit
  • The address of the web page you visited immediately before, if any (the “referrer”)
  • Date and time of your visit
  • Properties of your device, particularly its operating system, the browser you use and your browser’s display window size
  • Your device’s IP address in the internet
  • Randomly assigned ID numbers, which M+W Group and third parties working for M+W Group store on your device. With these ID numbers M+W Group and the service providers working for M+W Group can recognize your device. This makes it possible to link your current website visit to your previous website visits. 3.1. General

M+W Group strives to present the most relevant information to the users of this website. M+W Group therefore uses tools to measure how this website is being used. With the help of these tools M+W Group particularly collects the following kind of information:

3.2. Google Analytics

Our specific tool for this purpose is Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google, Inc. (1600 Amphitheatre Parkway Mountain View, CA 94043, USA, hereinafter referred to as “Google”).

Google Analytics uses the “cookies” mentioned above in section 2.2. Your browser transmits the information created with the help of these cookies on your use of this website to Google servers in the USA, where they are stored for up to 14 months. Currently there is no decision of the EU Commission that the USA generally provide an adequate level of protection for personal data. 4. Contact form and email communication

If you send inquiries to M+W Group via the website contact form or by email, M+W Group processes the information you provide in such message (including your contact details) to deal with your inquiry, and to provide a reply. These communication data are stored by M+W Group for future reference.

M+W Group is a global company. M+W Group may therefore share information from your message with people working at affiliates of M+W Group if this is necessary to deal with your request. Depending on the nature of your request this may involve the transfer of personal data to M+W Group affiliates located in countries outside the EU (some of which are countries for which the Commission has not decided that they ensure an adequate level of protection for personal data). Even in case of such transfers M+W Group and its affiliates will always handle your data in accordance with the requirements of applicable law, and only to deal with your inquiry and provide a reply.

The legal basis for this processing of data are Article 6 (1) b) and f) GDPR, i.e. performance of a contract or pre-contractual measures and a balancing of interests – based on M+W Group’s legitimate interest to handle inquiries of its website’s users.

5. Job applications

If you apply for a job at M+W Group via this website, M+W Group will store and process the data you provide to review and handle your application. If you apply for a job at an affiliated company of M+W Group, M+W Group will forward your data to the respective company, where the data will be further processed as described herein. Depending on the location of your application’s target job this may involve a transfer of personal data to M+W Group affiliates located in countries outside the EU (some of which are countries for which the EU Commission has not decided that they ensure an adequate level of protection for personal data). Even in case of such transfers M+W Group and its affiliates will always handle your data in accordance with the requirements of applicable law, and only to deal with your application. The legal basis for this processing of data is Article 6 (1) b) GDPR (contractual and pre-contractual activities).

You are not obliged to provide the information that is requested during the online application process, but without the requested information we may not be able to process your application.

If your application is successful, M+W Group (or the respective affiliate of M+W Group) will continue to process your data for the purposes of your employment relationship. If your application is not successful, your data will usually be deleted within six months after the end of the application process. You may consent, however, that M+W Group continues to store your application materials for up to 4 years. This will permit M+W Group to stay in contact with you and to present suitable positions at M+W Group and its affiliates. The legal basis for such processing is Article 6(1)a) GDPR in connection with your consent. You can withdraw your consent at any time, e.g. via email to info@mwgroup.net. 6. Third-party content

6.1 General

The internet is a connected environment. You will therefore not only find our own content on this website. We have also incorporated various third-party content that improves the way our website works. 6.4 Legal basis

The legal basis for integrating third-party content as described in this Section 6 is Article 6 (1) f) GDPR (balancing of interests – based on our interest to present attractive content to users of our website in a technically efficient manner).

7. External service providers

M+W Group uses various external services providers to operate this website (e.g. data center operators). To the extent it is necessary these service providers also process personal data. M+W Group diligently selects and supervises its service providers. They process the data only in accordance with M+W Group’s instructions and are also bound by this privacy statement.

8. Retention periods

M+W Group stores personal data only as long as it is necessary for the purposes described herein, or as long as it is necessary to comply with statutory retention periods. Unless it is stated otherwise herein the data you have entered pursuant to section 2.1 above will therefore not be retained for longer than the statutory retention period for business communication of six years. Unless it is stated otherwise herein the automatically collected data pursuant to section 2.2 will be deleted or anonymized after one week at the latest.

9. Your rights

Upon request M+W Group will inform you whether M+W Group stores any data about you, and if yes which. Under the statutory conditions you may have the right to demand that M+W Group rectifies, restricts processing of, or erases these data.

You also have the right to receive from M+W Group the personal data concerning you which you have provided to M+W Group, in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format. You have the right to transmit (or have transmitted) those data to another controller.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority for data protection matters.
